Behind the LENS:
Chris Daniels
I’m a South Alabama-based photographer drawn to movement, grit, wild places, and the stories that unfold when people step outside the ordinary. My work is rooted in outdoor adventure, sport, lifestyle, brand, and photojournalistic photography, with an eye for honest moments over staged perfection. Whether I’m shooting athletes in motion, riders on the trail, teams in the field, community stories as a photojournalist, or brands with a story to tell, I look for images that feel earned, lived-in, and true.
Before photography became a central part of my creative life, I spent 23 years serving in the U.S. Army Infantry, including deployments to both Iraq and Afghanistan, and was awarded the Purple Heart. That experience shaped the way I see people, pressure, resilience, and purpose. Today, as an author, adventure racer, mountain biker, and working photojournalist, I bring that same appreciation for endurance and storytelling into my photography—capturing not just what a moment looks like, but what it took to get there.
